Shrug This for Jax
I made this shrug for Jax over the past week. Just wanted to share…

Knitting and other things of interest
Just wanted to say Happy New Years to everyone!
Also, starting this new year, I am starting a more centralized blogging space here: http://knittergirl.shozbot.us

I finished my Fisherman’s Mittens in time for this snow. Here is what they look like… They are really warm too!

I have finished my last class with a 98% grade. My Masters Degree is finally complete. ![]()
We are to get 4-7 inches again today through to tomorrow. I’m glad I don’t have to drive to work tomorrow… ![]()
This is what is looks like right now out the door here at work:

Hiyas, we got about 6-8 inches so far with it still coming down and my boss sends out an email telling everyone that the company is still open so make it it (even though we have the ability to work remotely) unless you have a vacation day left to use instead.
So I drove in – the roads haven’t been plowed yet but since everyone else had enough sense to stay home, the roads were empty of cars. I just drove slowly and carefully and made it in. My fear is if the snow keeps coming down all day then I don’t want to get stuck here.
WooHoo! My ball winder came today and I just made my first ball with it and my new swift! That is soo cool!
Just had to share..
I got my new swift last night. Now just waiting for the ball winder. I know what I will most likely be doing this weekend. I have some really pretty pale yellow very fine (lace weight??) yarn that I picked up about 4 or so years. Haven’t done anything with it yet because it is in 2 hanks and I didn’t want to attempt to put it into a ball and make a big knotted ball/mess. So it has sat there waiting for me. I bought it to make a lace shawl out of it. Even bought a book with the shawl in it (but now don’t remember which one I wanted to make). I’ll try to post a pic of the yarn tonight if I have time after the presentation.
My last master’s class will be done (work wise) tonight when my team mates and I record the final presentation. Then all that is left is to wait for the grade. A Master’s student needs to have an overall GPA of 3.0 or better. Mine so far (not including this class) is: 3.84 and currently my grade for this class is 98%. But two of the big point grades haven’t been graded yet. Keeping my fingers crossed…
I was about 3/4 finished of the second Fisherman’s Mitten (fingerless gloves with a cover over the fingers) with only the finger tips and thumb to finish. That is when I noticed I was doing the right hand version again. I had to rip all of it out down to where the thumb gore starts so I could move it over 16 sts, making it the left hand version. Ugh! So close to being done, now so far away… lol
Once I am done knitting them, I get to felt them to fit. Can’t wait to see how they turn out. They are sooo huge now before felting.
